Career Assessments

Career Assessments assist in identifying strengths, personality characteristics, interests, and potential career paths. After completing an assessment, contact the Toppel Career Center to schedule an appointment with a career advisor who can help interpret the results.

Self Directed Search (SDS)

This paper-based assessment was developed by Dr. John Holland and is based on a theory that people can be classified according to six types. Stop by the Toppel Career Center to pick up a copy of the SDS.

This online assessment will allow you to discover your personality strengths, which will help you understand yourself and your preferred work environments. TypeFocus is located on the homepage of HireACane.

Strong Interest Inventory Assessment

This online assessment is the most widely used instrument for career education. Due to its cost, students and alumni must pay a $10 fee to the Toppel Career Center and take the assessment in the Career Technology Lab.
