Your job or internship hunt shouldn’t take a summer vacation!

The Toppel Career Center will be hosting the annual Summer Virtual Career Fair from June 1st – June 15th. With the variety of opportunities available, all students and alumni are encouraged to participate regardless of your major or discipline.

Students can participate in the Virtual Career Fair by logging into your HireACane account. You will find a link on the home page for the Virtual Career Fair. There you will see the companies that are recruiting. Click on the company you are interested in and you will see their profile, the positions they are recruiting for,  and their live-chat schedule.

YES! If the employer has postings listed, you will be able to apply. It is strongly recommended that you have your most updated resume uploaded on HireACane.

Keep in mind, your resume is the first impression to the employer so you need to make sure it is free of mistakes! You will need to prepare for this as resume approval can take 3-5 business days. You can also have it critiqued without an appointment during Walk-In Advising at Toppel Monday thru Thursday from 10am-4:30pm. Summer walk-in hours are Monday thru Thursday from 2pm-4pm.

Remember: The only thing that is different from a typical career fair is the “virtual” part. The hiring process after you apply will remain the same as if you had attended a typical career fair. Employers will contact you for interviews and you should follow up with employers afterwards as well.

Beginning June 1st, if you are a University of Miami student or alumni, you can participate as often as you would like. Employers will have the opportunity to register through the duration of the Virtual Career Fair so it would be in your best interest to check back to see if new companies you feel may be a good fit have registered.
