CANE Explorers is a series of programs designed for students who are undeclared
majors or considering a major change. These events provide opportunities to network
with other students who are unsure of their major and meet UM administrators and

What does being "undeclared" mean? When do I have to choose a major and where do
I start? This program will teach you the basics of navigating the UM system, tips
for exploring of variety options, and how to choose the best fit for you!

This program will allow you to do some self-exploration and discover your interests.
Take the TypeFocus and Self-Directed Search in advance, and come to this program
to review your results and what they mean in terms of your major choice and career
development.

It may seem early to consider internships and research! However, these are a must
for employers and graduate admissions committees and a great way to test an industry.
It’s important to learn about these options during your freshman year, so you can
make a plan for success.
