  1. How can I unsubscribe from HireACane?
  2. Log in to your HireACane account, click on the "Profile" tab, then click on the "Privacy" tab and select "No" (not to receive e-mail notifications). Please note that we do not delete HireACane accounts so you will always have access to your account. You can change your privacy settings at any time.
  3. How do I upload my resume (or any document) on HireACane?
  4. Log in to your HireACane account, click on the "Documents" tab. To add a new document, click on "Add New" at the bottom of the page. Please give the file a name under "Label". Then click on "Browse" and search for the file to upload. Once you have selected the file, click the "Submit" button. You are allowed to upload up to 10 documents on HireACane.

  6. Log in to your HireACane account, click on the "Postings" tab and select the "HireACane Jobs" tab, this will take you to the search criteria.
  7. How do I search for employers on HireACane?
  8. Log in to your HireACane account, click on the "Employers" tab and it will show you a list of all of the employers registered on HireACane.
  9. How do I RSVP for an event at the Toppel Career Center?
  10. Log in to you HireACane account, click on the "Events" tab. You will find a list of events happening at the Toppel Career Center. Click on the RSVP button to sign up. If your plans change and you can no longer attend, please log back in and remove your RSVP.
  11. How do I know if I've been pre-selected for an On Campus Interview?
  12. You will receive an e-mail asking you to log into your HireACane account and select an interview time
  13. How do I apply for an Interview?
  14. Log in to your HireACane account and select the "Postings" tab, then "HireACane Jobs". Once you locate the job you are interested in, please make sure that the Type shows a letter P (Pre-Select). If you qualify for the job according to the employer's requirements, you can apply at this point. If you are Pre-Selected for the position, you will receive an e-mail asking you to log in to HireACane and select an interview time slot. Please note that if you do not meet the minimum criteria, you will not be able to submit your resume. The reasons why you do not meet the criteria will be listed.
  15. What does Pre-Select mean?
  16. When you apply for an interview (assuming you meet the minimum criteria), employers will screen the resumes they receive and choose (pre-select) the students they would like to interview.
  17. How do I get selected for an interview?
  18. Criteria for all postings are determined by the employer and they make their selections based on their needs. The Toppel Career Center does not screen or select students for interviews.
  19. How do I choose an interview time?
  20. Once you have been pre-selected for an interview, you will receive an e-mail with instructions on how to select an interview time. You will log in to your HireACane account, click the "Interviews" tab and select the "Interview Requests" tab. There you will either "accept" or "decline" the interview. If you "accept", then select an interview time.
  21. How do I withdraw my application from a Non-OCR posting?
  22. If you have already applied for a Non-OCR position on HireACane and wish to withdraw your application, please contact the contact person for the position (if the information is available on the job posting). If it's not available, please call the Toppel Career Center at (305) 284-5451.
  23. How do I remove myself from an interview?
  24. If you have been pre-selected for an interview and wish to not participate, log in to your HireACane account and decline the interview. This will remove you from the pre-select list. However, if you have already selected an interview time and then wish to me removed, please contact the Toppel Career Center at (305) 284-5451 and ask to be removed.
